The City of Ozark Sanitation Department will suspend curbside recycling collection effective October 18, 2013.  This action is being taken due to the high cost of collection and disposal of recyclable material in the present market and to prevent the raising of garbage fees to cover the lossof revenue related to recycling activities.  The City hopes to someday resume collection of recyclables when costs are not so excessive.

All citizens presently recycling ar encouraged to retain their bin and drop off their recycling at one of the local recycling facilities located in Ozark.  Presently the Rescue Mission Bargin Center on North Union Avenue and the Closet on Roy Parker Road are accepting recyclable material.  Recycling will not be accepted at the City Public Works facility.  Bins shall remain property of the city, however, residents wishing to retain and use them will be allowed to do so.  Anyone wishing to have their bins picked up can do so by calling the Public Works Departement at 774-7032.
Inert waste such as cardboard boxes, metal, electronics and appliances will still be picked up on a scheduled basis by city trash crews.  All household garbage should be placed in your rollout container for collection.

Notices will be placed in your recycling bin beginning October 1, 2013 informing you of this action. Any bins placed curbside after October 18, 2013 will be collected by the City and stored.  For more information, please call 774-7032.
